You see…
I became an accountant because of my auntie Karen.
She was my favorite person, and I would come to her daycare and watch her work.
Of course, some days, I had to pick up a few toys and take out the trash…
But I loved doing it because it made her smile.
I also saw how much my aunt struggled.
She was born to take care of the kids - so kind and so patient…
Yet she would be wringing her hands, going through the receipts, and trying to figure out if there was enough money to pay the staff.
So I remember thinking… “When I grow up, I’m going to help her!”
And I did.
But then I got sidetracked, helping dentists, bakers, and pretty much any business you can think of.
And that just didn’t feel right.
